Summary:

We are searching for a Staff Accountant – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you will be responsible for summarizing the financial position of the IDS by recording and analyzing transactions affecting accounts in the general ledger and preparing relevant reports for management.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare monthly closing entries and submit to supervisor for review by established departmental closing deadlines
  • Review IDS financials with GL Manager and other executives, preparing and submitting necessary adjustments or accruals within appropriate closing cycles
  • Review accounts with manager and audit team, recording any necessary adjustments and working to minimize the potential for any year-end adjustments
  • Work with GL Manager, the Treasurer, management, and executive team resolving questions or discrepancies in the general ledger, analyzing any problems arising in the reports provided and assisting in the development of useful reporting
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts, submitting to supervisor for review
  • Compile reconciliations for annual audits, including financial and regulatory audits
  • Prepare any necessary variance summaries of significant balance fluctuations, working with GL Manager to determine necessary reporting

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or other financial field of study
  • Professional presence and strong work ethic

  • Demonstrated history of achievement and success

**Candidates with additional qualifications, such as a Master’s degree, CPA certification or qualification, and work experience with a Big 4 accounting firm are highly encouraged to apply**
