Summary:

We are searching for an Outpatient Staff Nurse - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll provide direct and telephone nursing care, health teaching, patient advocacy, supervision and coordination of care given by others, and the coordination of services required for patients outside the ambulatory care setting in a manner that is age and developmentally appropriate.

Assesses patients
•Plans process of care
•Implements plan of care
•Evaluates plan of care
•Educates patients, families, and community
•Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills, communication, and customer service skills
•Demonstrates the ability to manage time and resources for a typical patient assignment in a cost effective manner
•Functions as Patient Care Coordinator
•Remains current in unit/hospital information



Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Diploma in Nursing (Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred)
•Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas
•1 year of professional nursing experience
•Knowledge of nursing functions, basic anatomy/physiology, and diagnostic procedures
•Ability to demonstrate and perform generic and unit-based/critical competencies including the specific care of age and diagnosis appropriate for patients
•Ability to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills
•Ability to utilize time and resources in a cost effective manner
•Ability to demonstrate flexibility and good verbal/written communication skills
•Ability to perform delegation
•Ability to operate basic medical equipment and read/analyze basic medical equipment
•Ability to utilize a personal computer to include word processing and basic office equipment
