We are searching for a Supervisor Interpreter – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll support the provisions of interpretation services through high-quality training, competency assessments, and activities reporting. This position will also maintain individual competency through the provision of interpretation services.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure adequate coverage for all appointments scheduled
  • Collaborate with the Administrative Coordinator to rearrange the schedule to match appropriate interpreters with appointments and meetings
  • Identify proper solutions to address needs and make recommendations to leadership based on cost-effectiveness and appropriateness of the method
  • Provide accurate interpretations of clinical and health care related discussions involving staff, patients, families, and physicians
  • Coordinate, plan, and ensure interpreters are present at needed family conferences and meetings
  • Schedule interpreters to maximize interpreter usage and minimize the need for outside services
  • Maintain current knowledge of departmental/organizational policy and procedures, and JCAHO requirements
  • Provide additional resources to staff and leadership to ensure high-quality interpretation and that translating needs are met


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Evidence of advanced training in interpretation and/ or translation services is preferred
  • 4 years of related health care experience
  • An assessment of proficiency in oral and written English and at least one other language will be evaluated prior to hire, advanced proficiency must be demonstrated in the Health Care Interpreter Assessment
