Summary:

We are searching for a Pathology Patient Care Tech— someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll perform phlebotomy, order entry, specimen processing and clerical tasks in the Central Receiving and Processing section of the Pathology Department. You will also train new staff, manages defects and processes specimens for reference laboratory referral.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs phlebotomy procedures
  • Orders, labels, and processes specimens for testing in laboratory
  • Processes and packages specimens for shipping to the Main Campus other reference labs
  • Communicates and interacts with handles patients, families and staff
  • Processes problem samples in the defect line
  • Demonstrates theoretical and practical knowledge of the procedures and equipment; maintains skills and demonstrates competency via performance, documentation, and observation by supervisory staff
  • Performs other job-related functions


Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • PBT-ASCP - Cert-Phlebotomy Technician
  • 1 year of Phlebotomy/specimen processing experience
