We are searching for an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with Cardiology experience  – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will evaluate and manage children with risk factors of acquired heart disease, significant family cardiac history, elevated cholesterol, high blood pressure, and/or the diagnosis of Kawasaki disease. You will provide care for patients and support inpatient transitions as needed, as well as include structured time for quality improvement activities, research, stakeholder education, and care management.

Responsibilities :

  • Daily utilization of advanced practice knowledge and skills to systematically collect and evaluate health assessment data
  • Consistently demonstrate effective communication skills and work to eliminate communication barriers
  • Consistently serve as an educational resource for the patient, family, community, and other health care professionals
  • Consistently apply new knowledge relevant to pediatric nursing and clinical practice
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement programs annually


  • Master’s of science in nursing (MSN)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License from the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Advanced practice recognition from the Texas Board of Nursing (FNP, NNP, WHCNP or PNP-BC)
  • Broad knowledge of nursing functions and medical terminology
  • Ability to operate all types of equipment and perform routine and special procedures used in the daily advanced nursing care of children
