Summary:

We are searching for a Physical Therapy Advanced Clinical Specialist — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll plan, evaluate, organize, and implement Physical Therapy (PT) treatment programs in a developmentally and age appropriate manner for patients age 0-adulthood.

Responsibilities :

  • Completes patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelines
  • Develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to hospital and department guidelines
  • Develops measurable long term and short-term goals as well as monitors outcome of treatment plan, in collaboration with the family
  • Serves as lead clinic therapist in assigned clinic or specialty area
  • Collaborates with physicians and clinic/program team to assess needs of clinic
  • Coordinates work schedule to meet the needs of the assigned clinic/program
  • Attends all scheduled assigned clinics or takes responsibility to ensure coverage by a peer therapist
  • Assesses patient and family needs regarding their level of understanding, readiness to learn, ability to assimilate information in the most desirable method of teaching
  • Documents patient information in Electronic Medical Record according to hospital and departmental guidelines
  • Develops and instructs patient and family in appropriate home treatment program
  • Provides family-centered care (assessed through observation, documentation, and family/patient feedback)
  • Plans, coordinates, and presents three (3) educational in-services per year to department staff, hospital, physicians, or community
  • Promotes clinical expertise and development of staff through ongoing revisions and updates of established clinical competencies


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Current Texas state license to practice physical therapy
  • Eight years pediatric or sports medicine clinical experience
  • Successful demonstration of the professional competencies with advanced specialty knowledge and pediatric experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of rehabilitative care of patients with acute and chronic conditions and knowledge of development from the ages of neonate to adulthood
