We are searching for a Sports Physical Therapy Clinical Resident – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you will plan, evaluate, organize and implement Physical Therapy treatment programs in a developmentally and population appropriate manner for orthopedic and sports medicine patients through adulthood.

- Completes patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelines. For inpatients, new evaluations initiated within 24 hours and reassessments every two weeks or as needed. For outpatients, new evaluations completed within 24 hours except for extended, standardized evaluations and reassessment every 30 days or more often if indicated
- Develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to hospital and departmental guidelines
- In collaboration with patient and family, develops measurable long term and short term goals
- Plans, coordinates and presents post-workshop training to department staff
- During the last month of residency, will assist with decentralized orientation and transition of incoming resident
- Participates and completes all aspects of Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program including reporting, mentoring sessions, clinical and didactic training, sports venue, and other duties or requirements as assigned
- Documents patient information in EPIC according to hospital and departmental guidelines with no more than six (6) errors per year. Documentation must be completed by 12:00 noon the following day on Monday through Thursday and be end of day on Friday through Sunday including correct billing
- Therapist must complete all necessary insurance paperwork in a timely manner in order to prevent a lapse in therapy authorization (i.e., letter of medical necessity, TP1, TP2)
- Assesses patient and family needs regarding their level of understanding, ability to assimilate information and the most desirable method of teaching
- Provides accurate and thorough information consistently to patients and families concerning their participation in the patient's continuity of care
- Assesses patient and family's understanding of, cooperation with and participation in their own care
- Meets all (100%) institutional and departmental health, safety and training requirements prior to merit review date through attending all (100%) required OSHA, communicative diseases, fire, safety and infection control in-services and other hospital/departmental health, safety and training in-services
