Summary:

We are searching for a Senior Financial Analyst – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll assist in maintaining the financial and statistical records of the Health Plan, ensuring that executives, management, and the board can continuously measure performance relative to its goals and strategies.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure that monthly source data validates current membership, retroactive membership adjustments, and payment amounts according to contracted rates and membership distribution
  • Resolve errors and discrepancies with monthly membership and payment amounts, as well as identify and analyze issues that need attention
  • Review ASO revenue and receivables, cash activity, monthly membership, and revenue amounts in a general ledger
  • Prepare documentation required to obtain payments owed, monitor outstanding claims, and obtain supplemental payments under contract provisions
  • Reconcile claims expense to lag schedules and calculate IBNR in accordance with our procedures
  • Coordinate with treasury to monitor available cash against expected cash requirements
  • Prepare, review, and assist with claims for reinsurance recovery, as well as evaluate the cost/benefit of policies
  • Review reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to ensure consistency with reported expense amounts
  • Prepare schedules as assigned for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of membership, revenues, and medical expenses by product
  • Monitor product performance in terms of contribution margin, premium deficiency requirements, and contracted experience rebate provisions
  • Prepare what-if schedules as assigned to help rate setting, budgeting, or forecasting
  • Participate in cross-training


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • 5 years’ experience with accounting or analytical work experience
  • Master’s degree and a CPA license by the Texas State of Public Accountancy can substitute for two years of experience
  • Thorough knowledge of managed care and governmental medical coverage operating principles
