We are searching for an Assistant Director of Business Operations — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide daily oversight of the Business Operations department, including the management of member eligibility, medical policy/configuration, and provider setup. You will lead and ensure the successful completion and/or implementation of process improvement initiatives, strategic priorities, regulatory mandates, policies, procedures, and other operational activities. Lastly, you will be the point of contact for vendors that interact with the department.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with other Health Plan department leaders to ensure cross-departmental process and workflow impact the Business Operations department efficiently, are thoroughly documented, and meet regulatory requirements as needed
  • Provide guidance on the development, tracking, and reporting of department performance, productivity, and quality metrics
  • Manage and track critical projects assigned to the department, ensure challenges or roadblocks are removed, and provide updates to the appropriate Health Plan leadership
  • Interface with the Information Services department to create a departmental dashboard that encompasses the appropriate metrics
  • Collaborate with department managers and Human Resources business partners to provide training and other tools for the staff
  • Direct the growth and development of the Business Operations team members and have annual performance management plans based on organizational and departmental goals


  • Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business administration, or related field, master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in management or leadership
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Medicaid managed care and health plan operations, including leading and implementing strategy and process improvement initiatives
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in health plan payer systems
