Looking for a Clinical Generalist, Audiology to provide the highest quality age-appropriate audiologic care for patients newborn to 21 years of age within the scope of practice and established practice standards for Audiology. The Clinical Generalist functions effectively as a member of the clinical team and supports the mission of Texas Children's Hospital.

Responsibilities :

Specific Duties

  • Provides diagnostic assessments
  • Age appropriate diagnostic assessments and interpretation
  • Amplification evaluations/dispensing, verification, validation, programming and training
  • Documentation and patient/family education
  • Complete documentation meeting departmental standards for content, accuracy and timeliness.

Written reports must accurately and clearly describe history, test results and recommendations

  • Follow policies and procedures for best practice according to TCH Audiology protocols
  • Counsels/educates parents regarding test results/recommendations/financial resources

Professional Development

  • At least 2 director approved ½ hour topic or case presentations per year to staff, residents, parents, community, and other professionals
  • Participate in work-sponsored educational opportunities
  • 10 CEUs per calendar year
  • Minor clinical duties
  • Hearing aid room maintenance, soft-ware updates
  • Test room listening checks
  • Other related duties, as assigned Responsibility
  • Serves on audiology committees or specialty teams


Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate Degree (Audiology)
  • TXAUDLIC -Texas Audiology license
  • BLS
  • CC-A – Cert- Audiology or ABA-CERT Audiology (certification can be obtained post hire <6 months)
  • Clinical expertise in pediatric audiology.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective communication of information
  • Positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in an inter-disciplinary environment
