We are searching for a Coding Compliance Specialist – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll assume responsibility for providing education, auditing, and feedback to the coding staff as it relates to reimbursement, procedural code, and coding compliance.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement a method by which each HIM coder has a representative sample of their records audited on a monthly and/or quarterly basis
  • Provide feedback to leadership about reimbursement opportunities found as a result of the audits and recommend coding changes as necessary
  • Develop and implement training programs for the HIM coding staff to reinforce and/or change the coding behaviors
  • Review and interpret the Federal Registry and other relevant publications on a current basis to keep pace with coding changes in the industry
  • Recommend a change in regulations to improve our financial relations
  • Respond directly to all requests for coding information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Compile requests and responses into a monthly newsletter and maintain the SharePoint site for coding education


  • High school diploma or GED
  • RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CPC-A, or CCS-P certification
  • 4 years’ experience in coding and/or compliance
  • Thorough knowledge of CPT4 and ICD9/ICD10 coding methodologies
