Summary:

We are searching for a Simulation Center Training Specialist – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll manage interdisciplinary simulation initiatives aimed at improving clinical performance, organizational learning, patient safety, and quality care outcomes across our system.

Responsibilities :

  • Identify new and innovative ways to integrate simulation into clinical and organizational learning
  • Develop and maintain effective policies, procedures, and processes to support inefficient/effective operations with the Simulation Center
  • Ensure integration of current professional standards, research findings, and best practices into development and ongoing improvement of policies and procedures for simulation across our system
  • Support grant writing and provide for recommendations for simulation-related operating and capital budgets
  • Develop, coordinate, and participate in initial training, ongoing development, and coaching of simulation instructors to support the professional development of instructors and overall program improvement
  • Coordinate simulation set-up, including prop securement, prop management, and other theatrics to effectively simulate the reality of the health care environment
  • Program scenarios into the software, as well as run scenarios and debriefings 
  • Participate in vendor training and updates, and ensure all center equipment is properly maintained
  • Develop and oversee courses, workshops, and other simulation activity for faculty
  • Consult with each new facility/SME user of the center on the conceptualization, design, development, and implementation of scenarios
  • Develop and oversee simulation-based quality/patient safety initiatives designed to address complex problems
  • Maintain records of center utilization and establish effective evaluation, debriefing, and feedback methodologies

 



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or nursing
  • Master’s degree in a clinical, educational, or simulation field preferred
  • RN license from the state of Texas
  • 3 years’ experience as an educator in a department that includes simulations using low/high fidelity mannequins, scenarios, and role play development
