We are searching for a Staff Accountant — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll summarize the financial position of the IDS by recording and analyzing transactions affecting accounts in the general ledger and preparing relevant reports for management.

Responsibilities :

  • Records activity to assigned general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP and hospital policies and procedures
  • Prepares monthly closing entries for cash, investment, and trusteed assets and submits to supervisor for review by established departmental closing deadlines
  • Researches and responds to basic accounting inquiries posed by all sources
  • Performs detailed reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts to relevant subsidiary ledgers and resolves all reconciling items in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensures all cash and investment accounts are reconciled monthly to source data from the bank or investment company, resolving reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Prepares monthly reports which accurately and materially reflect the financial position of the IDS
  • Prepares monthly financial statements for TCI including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and a Statement of Cash Flows according to established reporting deadlines for GL Manager and TCI executive review


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or other financial field of study
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and a general understanding of the operation of financial information systems (general ledger, timekeeping, payroll, accounts payable, assets, etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, problem-solve, and manage time effectively
  • Personal computer skills such as word processing and spreadsheets and the ability to operate a 10-key by touch are also required
  • Must have the ability to keep sensitive and confidential information private
