Summary:

We are searching for a Clinical Product Evaluation Coordinator - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll collaborate with the nursing and supply chain management departments to ensure that the strategic direction of the organization is met in terms of product standardization, clinical product quality, and supply expense management. You will review the current group purchasing contract portfolio, develop comprehensive clinical and utilization protocols, as well as develop and execute a product standardization plan for clinical products within patient care areas.

Responsibilities :

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with clinical departments to evaluate products utilized in clinical areas
  • Proactively work with nursing to raise patient care provider attention to supply cost management, lost charges, and compliance
  • Coach and reinforce staff compliance regarding procedure for proper patient charges
  • Ensure patient care providers use supplies appropriately and collaborate with clinical department leaders to evaluate products
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement continuous quality improvement processes for supply/labor practices
  • Coordinate new/replacement product trails and selection in clinical areas
  • Perform the monthly analysis of financial performance related to the clinical product supply selection and utilization
  • Develop presentations for departmental leadership and attend “new product” meetings to address possible concerns
  • Collaborate with the supply chain (GPO analyst, warehouse, and central distribution) to reduce the number of SKUs in conjunction with the Product Assessment Committee
  • Coordinate with the product manufacturer to determine the course of action, investigation, and communication between the hospital departments as needed


Qualifications:

Skills & Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field (master’s preferred)
  • RN license from the state of Texas required
  • 5-7 years’ experience with pharmaceutical purchasing/sourcing
  • Pharmacy experience, understanding of standardized drug lists, and thorough understanding of pharmaceuticals is desired
