Summary:

We are searching for a Flow Cytometry Technologist III — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will learn and operate new instrumentation like CyTOF, you will work closely with clinicians, department leadership, and research faculty to utilize unique and highly advanced skills in flow cytometry to achieve clinical diagnoses and to implement research goals.

Responsibilities :

  • Operates flow cytometers (analyzers, sorters, CyTOF) daily
  • Coordinates scheduling and billing on flow cytometers
  • Handles research and clinical data for flow cytometers
  • Provides training and demonstrations on flow cytometer
  • Conducts preparation, acquisition, and analysis of clinical samples
  • Performs the clinical duties by adhering to standards set by the College of American Pathologists (CAP)
  • Responsible for inventory, ordering, and other lab-related functions
  • Ability to accept the call schedule to meet the unit needs


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences
  • 5 years of lab experience, including 5 years of experience with flow cytometry and 2 years of experience operating a sorting flow cytometer
  • Working knowledge of immunology, Cluster Designation markers, and proficient in flow cytometry (analyzers and sorters)
  • Must be able to operate an analytical flow cytometer, sorting flow cytometer, fluorescent microscope, tabletop centrifuge, and computers. Must be able to train others on all equipment, and act in a supervisory capacity as needed
