We are searching for a Team Leader Account Representative — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll support the Area Manager, respond to all customer inquiries regarding patient accounts, provide collection follow-up, ensure continuity of cash flow and the collection of every collectible dollar with efficient account resolution, in addition to ensuring reimbursement is following contractual commitments.

Responsibilities :

  • Participate in interviewing candidates
  • Conduct orientations for new employees and provide input on annual performance reviews
  • Assess the competency of staff and identify training needs
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels by determining requirements for daily coverage, developing/posting work schedules, and making appropriate decisions regarding PTO requests
  • Funnel information between staff and leadership regarding workplace issues, resource needs, events, et cetera
  • Initiate collection calls to payors and guarantors to verify receipt of claims/statements and collect on outstanding accounts receivables
  • Document the expected payment, the expected date, and the check number and amount to be paid
  • Ensure payments received by third party payors are correct and the proper contractual discounts/allowances have been applied according to the contract matric or government reimbursement rates
  • Analyze and assess accounts for uncollectable balances and make prudent decisions
  • Evaluate family’s financial condition and determine eligibility for charity assistance
  • Perform the necessary investigation and take the appropriate actions necessary to resolve an escalated call
  • Report denial trends or problem issues with payors, processes, or policies that will aide in improving the cash performance or accounts receivable management


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on business preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in collections required
  • Hospital or healthcare collections required
