We are searching for an Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll perform one or more: EEGs/Long term video monitoring, Evoked Potentials or Polysomnography, procedures according to facility policy and procedures. The Technologist will maintain patient safety during clinically significant events, and other related duties. During diagnostic procedures for which competence has not been achieved, the Technologist trains under direct technical supervision. Once training is completed and all required institution competencies have been achieved, the Technologist works under indirect technical supervision.

• Perform routine Neurodiagnotics procedures in accordance with ABRET/ACNS guidelines and ASET competencies and/or BRPT/AAST
• Continues to learn and apply basic and intermediate waveform recognition, relevant medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infection control, and current HIPPA practices
• Performs patient assessment as related to care such as electrode product allergies, movement restrictions, and cognitive function
• Attend relevant courses, online courses, or case studies through journals/relevant publications
• Documents patient information in patient’s electronic medical record according to hospital and departmental guidelines
• Follows departmental guidelines to ensure timely and accurate billing by submitting patient charges based on appropriate supportive documentation
• Informs manager or designee of all patient/personal injury or unsafe situations, anticipated problems and unusual situations, completes appropriate related documentation according to departmental and hospital guidelines
• Communicates effectively with patient/family, department staff, physicians and other health care professionals to promote quality patient care
• Maintains Continuous Service Readiness (CSR) within center, to ensure a safe environment, quality patient care, and successful completion of site surveys (i.e., mock surveys, Joint Commission)
• Works at alternative locations as needed to support patient care at the discretion of direct supervisor/manager or designee
• High school diploma or GED
• One (1) year of electroneurodiagnostic experience inclusive of clinical rotations
• Graduation from an Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program will substitute for one (1) year of experience
• The ability to independently demonstrate skill in one of the following areas: EEG, EEG Video Monitoring, EP, or PSG, may require direct supervision with advanced studies.
• Demonstrated ability to operate neurodiagnostic equipment, video monitoring equipment
• Is articulate, courteous and supportive in dealing with hospital, administrative and departmental personnel, patients and parents with ability to honor confidentiality
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, good customer service, utilize basic office equipment and a personal computer
