Summary:

We are searching for a Staff Pharmacist — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will promote pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving drug-related problems. You will perform the duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by the organization. Lastly, you will complete responsibilities that are developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure the appropriateness of all medication doses in reference to the patient’s diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions
  • Participate in the training of new employees and the education of pharmacy students
  • Complete intervention documentation in the on-line documentation program, according to guidelines and as evidence by pharmacy computer system reports
  • Participate in shift reports as the incoming and outgoing pharmacist, including verbal communication and any other established procedures
  • Exhibit leadership in coordinating on-line activities including technician workload, managerial duties, and shift transitions
  • Contribute to the medication management process, medication reconciliation, and supervise and ensure the accuracy of technician preparation of all pharmaceutical preparations
  • Review protocols, discuss study logistics with study personnel prior to the start of a study, and coordinate the study initiation


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or a Ph.D. in pharmacology
  • Registered Pharmacist from the State of Texas
  • The pharmacist in this role shall be a licensed practitioner who holds a valid, unrestricted license to conduct clinical activities
