Summary:

We are searching for a Diagnostic Tech - someone who works well in a fast-paced urgent care setting. In this position, you’ll perform exceptional quality routine and specialized radiographic procedures at the request licensed independent practitioner for interpretation by radiologists.

Responsibilities :

  • Integrates scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction and compassionate care resulting in diagnostic information
  • Recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure
  • Demonstrates a detailed understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology
  • Maintains a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique
  • Possesses, utilizes, maintains and enhances knowledge of radiation safety and protection for self, patients and others
  • Prepares, administers and documents activities related to mediations in accordance with state regulations and institution policy
  • Is a liaison between patients, radiologist and other members of the support team
  • Remains sensitive to the needs of the patient through good communication and exceptional patient care skills
  • Participates in quality improvement processes and continually assesses their professional performance
  • Thinks critically and uses independent, professional and ethical judgment in all aspects of work
  • Engages in continuing education to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge and technical competence
  • Responsible for patient care, appropriate documentation, quality control and quality improvement
  • Provides training, education and mentoring to students, technologists, nursing, residents, fellows, staff and others
  • Maintains a safe and hazard free environment


Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED 
• One of the following:

  • Licensed General Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification issued by the State of TX.

The following is preferred:

ARRT strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree. 
• 1 year experience as Radiology Technologist 
• Certification as a Medical Technologist by either ASCP or AMT
