Summary:

We are searching for a Speech Pathologist - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you'll appropriately diagnose and treat patients primarily between the ages of 0 - 21 years with speech, oral motor/swallowing, and language disorders. Meanwhile, you'll be working toward obtaining the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Responsibilities :

  • Performs patient evaluations/consultations and interprets results
  • Performs appropriate treatment of patients
  • Maintains records as required by law, IDS policy and administrative regulations
  • Completes requirements for Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-Language Pathology
  • Administers formal tests as needed
  • Makes referrals for other evaluations as appropriate
  • Provides in-service teaching to colleagues
  • Promotes speech-language pathology services within the community and the IDS


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Licensure as an Intern by The State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology or TX SLP certification
  • 1 year professional speech-language pathology experience with pediatrics preferred
