We are searching for a Director of Research— someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will oversee all administrative aspects of the research process for the organization's IDS, including laboratory and clinical research. You will ensure that grant requirements are being carried out according to the highest legal and fiscal standards of the IDS, funding agencies, and regulatory agencies. Lastly, you will ensure that all research efforts reflect credibly upon the professional medical and teaching status of the organization.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems that assure the integrity of the organization, protect the safety and welfare of employees and research subjects and promote compliance with all regulations governing the research process
  • Establish systems to identify and procure grant funding for research and
  • Provide data which demonstrates the businesses financial commitment to our research mission and sets guidelines for the accounting, and reporting of research grants and contracts
  • Monitor and enforce the requirements of granting agencies to protect the company
  • Serve as a liaison with Baylor College of Medicine to ensure a cohesive, efficient grant management process and ensure that the relationship with Baylor College positively reflects, attracts, and retains prestigious and innovative research projects
  • Establish a strong customer-focused approach to researchers that balances proactive outreach, responsiveness, and sound fiscal management
  • Responsible for oversight and operations of the research facility, including space and equipment planning



  • Master’s degree
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in management and leadership operations within a large, complex research or hospital environment
