About Texas Children's Hospital

Texas Children’s Specialty Care Centers provide specialized diagnostic care to treat a variety of pediatric diseases and conditions. Specialty Care Centers are staffed by expert Texas Children’s physicians, surgeons, therapists and clinical staff who work closely with a child’s primary-care physician to diagnose health conditions and develop patient-specific treatment plans. The first Texas Children’s Specialty Care location in Austin is expected to open in October 2018 in the north-central area of the city with nearly a dozen medical and surgical services under one roof, including the following sub-specialties and offerings: allergy and immunology; cardiology; dermatology; gastroenterology; neurology; developmental pediatrics; endocrine; pulmonary; ophthalmology; plastics; urology; and X-ray and ultrasound readings by Texas Children’s pediatric radiologists.  

Summary:

We are searching for a Supervisor of Ambulatory Services for our specialty care clinic in Sugar Land— someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, provide patient access to all clinical locations by managing the daily operations of the Ambulatory Services Representative functions of the organization. You will provide the highest possible customer service as well as the most efficient and accurate collection of demographic and financial/coverage data at the patient level. Lastly, you will serve as an expert or MD liaison for clinic unlicensed functions and patients/families.

Responsibilities :

 Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all staff complete daily patient registration procedures per departmental processes promptly for each day clinic is in session to minimizes registration errors that result in accounts being kicked to a re-work work queue
  • Establish, in conjunction with the manager, departmental efficiency and quality goals for the clinics and aligns departmental resources to meet the set goals
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development of Ambulatory Services Representative team to meet performance targets, gather the most accurate financial and demographic information for each patient encounter, and provide the highest possible customer service
  • Evaluate improvement ideas by piloting new processes and adopting those that prove to be beneficial
  • Accurately input registration information into EPIC and provide complete and accurate documentation on each visit to ensure compliance with hospital and government regulations
  • Ensure the continuity in the standard of care between the organization's locations by participating in hospital-wide committees and developing relationships with peers as appropriate


Qualifications:

Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree may be substituted for experience
  • Minimum of 4 years’ of patient registration and/or business office experience
  • Supervisory experience and of emergency center registration experience preferred
