Summary:

We are searching for a Staff Accountant — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll summarize the financial position of the IDS by recording and analyzing transactions affecting accounts in the general ledger and preparing relevant reports for management.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare monthly closing entries for cash, investment, and assets
  • Review the IDS financials with other executives and make necessary adjustments or accruals within appropriate closing cycles
  • Assist by resolving questions or discrepancies within the general ledger and by analyzing any problems within the report
  • Work with the banking sources to resolve any cash and investment discrepancies and to ensure cash and investment activity is appropriately recorded
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts
  • Compile reconciliations for annual audits, including financial and regulatory audits
  • Prepare monthly financial statements including the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows
  • Assist in the consolidation of IDS financial package for presentation to the board
  • Prepare annual tax return (990) and work with the IDS tax consultant to ensure appropriate classificataion and reporting


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or other financial field of study required
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles
