We are searching for an Assistant Director of Business Services – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will work together with other areas to provide on-going support including payor reporting, transplant contract administration, and all other unique payor relationship management. Additionally, you will direct patient access services, effective collection of patient information, and establish an operating plan to ensure our client’s accounts receivable are liquidated according to established standards, compliance with federal and state laws governing patient access, strategic information is provided for financial/clinical planning, and processes are conducted in a customer service oriented fashion.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensures key processes have standards of performance that are measured, reported, and addressed
  • Manages and oversees all payor reporting and database for the payor contracts to include management of payor reporting software
  • Resolves patient access and reimbursement issues/problems by consulting with physicians, other departments, insurance companies, attorneys, and governmental agencies
  • Directs key processes by monitoring and reporting performance statistics and explaining variances and adjustments when made
  • Reviews accounts recommended for write-off to identify performance issues and take action to ensure that uncompensated care is minimized


  • Knowledge of budgeting, word processing, and spreadsheet software, flowcharting, and knowledge of healthcare and health insurance industry including admissions, discharge transfer, patient accounts, master patient index, appointment scheduling, and room management systems and processes
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree in business or healthcare administration preferred
  • 3 years’ supervisory experience and 5 years’ experience in healthcare or related service industry required
