Summary:

We are searching for a Lead Ambulatory Services Representative - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. As an unlicensed member of the outpatient care team, you will work directly with licensed providers or group of providers. The Lead Ambulatory Services Representative assists the care team by coordinating complex patient care activities, administering the patient scheduling system for the designated provider(s) and supporting patient flow and serving as an expert or MD liaison for clinic unlicensed functions and patients and families.

Responsibilities :

  • Conducts patient admission process, including check-in/welcome desk, PAR's, registration, past pending
  • Provides insurance authorization and collection of cash and deposits for the hospital
  • Coordinates schedules for clinic
  • Performs charge entry and reconciliation
  • Provides appropriate customer service and communication to patients and families
  • Receives completed medical records and follows up with providers to attempt to obtain missing medical records
  • Participates, as directed, in performance improvement activities collecting data on provided forms
  • Participates in performance improvement activities by developing annual clinic goals, coordinates PI projects, and takes part in the action planning process
  • Serves in key role to assure most efficient patient throughput in exam rooms
  • Tracks prolonged wait times for patients in waiting room and investigates cause
  • Assists in guiding the work of the Ambulatory Services Representatives and Senior Ambulatory Services Representatives


Qualifications:

Required

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance terminology and customer service concepts
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written and have good interpersonal skills
  • Ability of organization and problem solving skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Provide excellent customer service skills

 

Preferred

  • Pediatric experience
  • Supervisory experience
