We are searching for a Senior Systems Analyst - Epic Security - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will have a major role in developing Epic application solutions by investigating processes to understand data and communications flow with individual tasks and transactions within our organizations Integrated Delivery System.


The Senior Epic Security Systems Analyst will provide support to the IS Epic Application Support Teams along with its internal and external customers. This position executes Epic Security modifications to increase operating efficiency, achieve long and short term goals along with ensuring efficient integration with all Epic applications. We are searching for someone customer service oriented, team oriented, self-motivated but willing to take direction and adhere to processes, a need to take ownership of issues, and integrity in all matters.

Responsibilities :

  • Analyze and interpret customer requests and executes basic tasks in Epic Security access
  • Makes decisions regarding development of the design of the system and programs for enhancements and optimizations
  • Tracks, updates, and resolves issues and participates proactively in issue prevention
  • Responsible for designing, building, testing, validating, installing, modifying, upgrading, documentation development and ongoing support of the Epic System for Security
  • Obtain and maintain in-depth knowledge of the software, functionality and acquiring knowledge of work flows to be implemented on the system
  • Provide technical direction, guidance and assistance during project development and accomplishes all required formal sign-offs
  • Maintain the Epic security documentation including the Users and Security Matrix
  • Create and maintain role based security for the Epic system and manage related activities
  • Coordinate and implement processes for creation and updates to Epic system security across project teams
  • Provide regular security status reports to management
  • Develop and implement plan for the distribution and the testing of user security and access prior to Go Live
  • Translates users’ needs into detail requirement specifications
  • Facilitate and support Epic system installation through the implementation cycle
  • Develop, schedule and facilitate test plans for software, network, integration, user acceptance and parallel usage
  • Performs configuration analysis for system design
  • Analyzes system problems and modifications
  • Coordinates implementation and upgrades of systems
  • Participates in the IDS Committee as an IS representative
  • Communicates with Epic Applications Systems management of the goals, problems and solutions of the designated committees


  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, healthcare administration or other related field preferred
  • 9 years’ experience in hospital information systems selection, implementation and support required
  • Bachelor’s degree will substitute four years of work experience. Master’s degree will substitute for two years of work experience
  • Up to two years of clinical patient care and/or clinical research experience may substitute for up to two years of information systems experience on a month to month basis
  • Direct work experience at the Epic Systems Corporation will be counted at a premium, with every one year of Epic Systems Corporation experience counted as two years of experience
