We’re looking for a Trauma Registrar – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will work as part of the Trauma Service to achieve high quality, cost-effective health care throughout our client’s IDS. You will work closely with other departments to maintain the licensing requirements for the organization and facilitate the performance improvement process by providing accurate and timely data.


Think you’ve got what it takes?

Responsibilities :

  • Completion of paramedic training program or
  • Completion of vocational nursing program or
  • Diploma in nursing, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree required
  • RN, CSTR, or CAISS certification required
  • 5 years’ experience in hospital trauma registry, coding, or clinical research including a minimum of 2 years in trauma registry required
  • An active RN license at the time of hire may substitute for the 5 years of required experience


  • Maintains Trauma registry
  • Abstracts required information into the Trauma Registry and coordinates the reporting of data to the Department of State Health Services Trauma Registry as set forth in the Texas Health and Safety Code
  • Coordinates internal and external data reporting
  • Ensures accurate and error free data reporting to DSHS at least quarterly
  • Supports research activities
  • Conducts special projects and assignments at the direction of the Trauma Coordinator or Trauma Medical Director
  • Participates in the gathering of data for approved research projects
  • Ensures data accuracy and completeness prior to release
  • Ensures accurate and error free data reporting to NTDB yearly during the call for data
  • Performs regular data entry quality checks between registry staff
