Summary:

We are on the hunt for our next RN Service Coordinator- Operating Room- Pavilion for Women—someone who can thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position you’ll support excellence in clinical practice and the care of patients in accordance with their developmental stages. You will also assist in the daily operations of the service by assisting the Managers in promoting the development of other nursing professionals, demonstrating clinical expertise and implementation of the departmental standards of nursing practice.

Responsibilities :

Assesses patients with input from the parent/family

  • Involves patient/family in the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care
  • Formulates, implements, and documents individual teaching plans based on patient/family assessment as observed by supervisor
  • Cares for one or more of the following age groups routinely: Neonates, Infants, Toddler, Preschool Age, School Age, Adolescent, and Adult
  • Demonstrates commitment to team, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills
  • Accountable for managing time and resources in a cost effective manner
  • Handles the coordination of the specialty services
  • Accountable for maintaining professional development of self and participates in development of others
  • Accountable for performing other essential job related functions


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Nursing

  • A current permit of registration with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas
  • Two (2) years of Operating room experience
  • Knowledge of nursing functions, basic anatomy and physiology, and surgical procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate and perform generic and unit-based competencies including the specific care of age and diagnosis appropriate patients
  • Ability to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills
  • Ability to utilize time and resources in a cost effective manner
  • Demonstrates flexibility and good verbal and written communication skills
  • Delegation skills
  • Ability to operate various medical/surgical equipment and utilize a personal computer to include word processing and basic office equipment
  • Demonstrated competence in the service
