Summary:

We are searching for an Occupational Therapist Clinical Specialist — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position you'll plan, evaluate, organize, and implement physical therapy advanced treatment techniques and programs in a developmentally and age appropriate manner for patients ages 0-adulthood.

Responsibilities :

  • Completes patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelines
  • Develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to hospital and departmental guidelines
  • Monitors patient response to treatment intervention
  • Provides clinical support to assigned outpatient clinic or specialty program
  • Provides instruction/education to patients and families/care givers
  • Documents information in patient’s medical record and assists with patient billing process
  • Works with departmental staff and other health care professionals by volunteering regularly to help others when time allows
  • Communicates effectively with patient/family, team leader, department staff, physicians, and other health care professionals to promote quality patient care


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Occupational/Physical Therapy
  • Certified Hand Therapist experience/certification strongly preferred
  • Current Texas state license to practice occupational/physical therapy in the State of Texas
  • Temporary license is acceptable contingent upon permanent license obtained prior to temporary expiration date
  • Current basic life support certification is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of pediatric occupational therapy developmentally appropriate for children ages 0 – adulthood
  • Successful demonstration of fundamental competencies and at least two (2) advanced professional competencies
  • Must be articulate, courteous, and supportive in dealing with hospital, administrative, and departmental personnel, patients, and parents
  • Must independently treat patients by developing and following the established therapy plan of care
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
