Texas Children’s Urgent Care offers high-quality, efficient and affordable after-hours patient care in nine convenient community locations across the greater Houston area. Texas Children’s Urgent Care has also expanded to serve the children and families of Austin, Texas, with its first community location in South Austin. Staffed by board-certified pediatricians who have privileges at Texas Children’s Hospital, our Urgent Care team can diagnose and treat a wide variety of common pediatric ailments, illnesses and conditions, including: asthma, strep throat, fever, minor burns, influenza, ear infections, allergic reactions and more. We also provide procedures such as antibiotic injections, breathing treatments, fracture care and splinting, IV (intravenous) fluids, lab services, laceration repair and x-rays on-site.

We are searching for a Manager of Nursing in Urgent Care — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will direct, supervise, and coordinate daily operations of the Urgent Care Center. This role will handle various projects and assignments as appointed by the Director of the Urgent Care Center.

- Manage daily operations of assigned Urgent Care, including, but not limited to customizing site operations, communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure the successful operation of Urgent Care including but not limited to physician, parent, patient complaints and suggestions
- Manage human resources through hiring, developing and coaching competent staff and investigating/resolving all employee, patient and physician complaints and concerns and ensure regulatory compliance of assigned Health Centers by all accrediting bodies including JCAHO, HCFA, CLIA, OSHA, and ADA, TDH while also conducting special projects as needed for Urgent Care
- Coach and develop using an inter-disciplinary approach for individual team members by providing structured feedback for each staff member through yearly development plans and informal and/or formal follow up
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with the health care team and work to eliminate communication barriers. Serve as a liaison between physicians, families, nursing staff and ancillary departments to promote high patient, physician and other team member satisfaction
- Monitor current and projected workflow and clinical processes via data collection and observation. Effectively and succinctly compile, analyze, and present data to diagnose process improvement opportunities and goals to the team and department
- Demonstrate accountability for cost effective management of equipment and supplies while ensuring the department achieves patient care goals
- Demonstrate service philosophies to patient and families. Identify self, explain visit process, and provide information regarding length of visit
- RN Licensure by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners
- BLS - Cert - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
- Associate's Degree
- Diploma in Nursing
- 1+ years of pediatric emergency room nursing experience
- Previous supervisory expereince
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
