Summary:

We are searching for a Pharmacist (Managed Care) — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will play a vital role within the Pharmacy department and will work closely with the Director of Pharmacy and other key personnel to drive forward clinical projects, improve operation efficiencies, create clinical content and serve as a mentor to pharmacy students.

Responsibilities :

  • Identify opportunities to improve patient and prescriber experience, clinical outcomes, cost savings, and operations efficiency
  • Create and maintain appropriate and useful policies and procedures affecting areas of responsibility
  • Review drug utilization trends to assess the effectiveness of current utilization management practices for both pharmacy and medical drugs
  • Participate in the education of health plan employees, pharmacy students, and non-pharmacy personnel and develop an educational program and plan that can be incorporated into pharmacist’s routines, increasing their clinical knowledge
  • Ensure the accuracy of, and submits required reports promptly
  • Participate in audits of pharmacy operations and the pharmacy benefits manager (PBM)


Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in science in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy
  • RPH from the state of Texas
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in PGY1 Managed Care Pharmacy residency preferred or
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Managed Care experience at a health plan or PBM working in utilization management, analytics, formulary management, and/or clinical literature preferred
