We are searching for a Clerical Secretary - Operating Room- Full Time- 3p-11p someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you’ll perform receptionist and secretarial responsibilities for the unit/department and represent Texas Children’s Hospital utilizing exemplary customer service skills with all patients, families, visitors and health care team members.

Responsibilities :

  • Provides customer service to patients/families/visitors/health care team members
  • Coordinates area communication systems/procedures Completes secretarial duties and assigned special projects
  • Participates in achieving hospital/unit goals


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in a medical office or hospital environment preferred
  • Knowledge of basic receptionist/secretarial functions and medical terminology
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and problem solving skills
  • Ability to demonstrate good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment Proficient in use of word processing/spreadsheet programs and other hospital information systems
  • Ability to utilize a multi-line telephone Ability to type 40+ words a minute
