Summary:

We are searching for an Audiology Screener—someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position you’ll screen infant patients for hearing impairment and assess auditory sensitivity.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintains database of the infant’s screening to ensure appropriate follow-up care by audiologists
  • Reviews daily nursery inpatient census for appropriate screening needs and schedule screening for patients needing testing as documented in the record for both NICU and well baby nurseries
  • Enters screening results into EPIC and into the TEHDI data base
  • Obtains information on primary care physicians and risk factors associated with hearing loss in order to provide follow-up documentation
  • Checks equipment calibration daily, either biologically or electronically, to ensure proper functioning
  • Notifies the audiologist and/or Biomedical Instrumentation of any equipment malfunction
  • Locates the developmental and age appropriate Plans of Care
  • Cares for one or more of the following age groups routinely: Neonates, infants, toddler, preschool age, school age, adolescent and adult


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required
  • Some college or MA training is preferred
  • Knowledge of neonatal audiology screening procedures
