Summary:

We are searching for a Technical Coordinator POCT/LIS -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will oversee and coordinate POCT (Point of Care testing) activities including regulatory compliance, training, quality, monitoring and maintenance of the POCT equipment interfaces and the POCT database. You will also oversee and coordinate laboratory information systems (LIS) activities including, training, upgrades, testing, troubleshooting and implementation of equipment interfaces as they relate to our organization’s policy & procedures.

Responsibilities :

  • Coordinates and administers POCT training
  • Generates and reviews quality controls/maintenance logs monthly, notifies clinical leaders of non-compliance, assists with the implementation of corrective actions, documents corrective actions, and escalates on-going non-compliance
  • Troubleshoots interface failures; investigates cause, coordinates corrective actions with IS, POCT, and/or Pathology LIS team as applicable, communicate with clinical leaders
  • Administers LIS training to new employees within first week of orientation on the basic use of the LIS
  • Perform LIS file maintenance for department specific tests and worksheets
  • Administers middleware; coordinates implementation of new methods, develops and maintains auto validation rules; validates the accuracy of the auto validation rules in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Participates on CARLA teams
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of documents used by the department, using media and other applications as needed


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science required
  • AMT, MLS-ASCP, CLSP, MB-ASCP, MP-ASCP, BB-ASCP- C-ASCP, H-ASCP or M-ASCP certification from ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CLS required
  • OR Valid Medical Technologist license from any state required
  • Ability to operate POCT clinical laboratory analyzers
