Summary:

We are searching for a Transaction Entry Clerk — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will enter all claims received for adjudication.

Responsibilities :

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Enters paper claims received for processing
  • Opens, sorts, and scans daily mail received
  • Data enters claims in the system
  • Verifies Coordination of Benefits (COB) information in an external vendor’s system and updates verified information in a web-based application
  • Pulls claims from filed batches, refiles, work assigned work queues daily, print faxes, and other duties and tasks as assigned
  • Creates form letters for rejected claims
  • Enters claims accurately as defined
  • Completes special projects as requested
  • Opens, sorts into various categories, scans, and data enters claims and miscellaneous documents into data entry system for uploading into claims processing system
  • Sorts, scans, and keys claims


Qualifications:

Skills & Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of data entry experience
  • Claims entry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Ability to enter a minimum of 7,000 key strokes per hour
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Basic knowledge of various office machines (fax, copier, scanner, postage machine, etc)
  • Ability to distinguish the difference between various forms
