Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Speech Language Pathologist (SLP Texas Children's Health Plan, Greenspoint) – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will appropriately diagnose and treat patients primarily between the ages of 1 – 21 years with speech, oral motor/swallowing, voice, fluency, language, and learning disorders.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs patient evaluations/consultations and interprets results
  • Makes recommendations for treatment as appropriate
  • Performs appropriate treatment of patients
  • Develops treatment plan in conjunction with patient and/or family/caregiver
  • Maintains records as required by law, policy and administrative regulations
  • Documents evaluation procedures, results, diagnoses, and recommendations
  • Performs other job-related functions
  • Demonstrates commitment to team, flexibility, professional interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills
  • Attends and participates in continuing education programs as required to maintain licensure and promote professional growth

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • CCC-SLP certification from the ASHA, TX-SLP certification from the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, and BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • 1-year professional speech-language pathology experience with pediatrics
  • Knowledge of normal and abnormal development, anatomy and physiology of the speech/swallowing mechanism, types of disorders and their etiologies, diagnostic procedures, and treatment procedures
  • The ability to diagnose and treat speech, oral motor/swallowing, language, and learning disorder
