Summary:
We are searching for a Health Education Nurse -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will assist with the implementation of the Immunization Project goals, with specific responsibility of the education component.

Responsibilities :
Updates Immunization provider database for greater Houston area within one month of start date, in conjunction with registry outreach team
Assesses clinic immunization behaviors and practices for all immunization providers in the greater Houston area within 3 months of start date
Develops, standardizes, updates and distributes educational materials for clinical staff monthly, physicians, physicians-in-training, community groups and parents on a quarterly basis
Participate in public education by developing and giving presentations to community groups, daycares, schools, etc. in order to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of immunizations
Plans, manages, and/or participates in local, state, &/or national conferences, committees, and other meetings for the promotion of immunizations
Assist IP Manager with projects as assigned such as grant writing, reports, presentations., etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or one of the following educational milestones is required:
Associate’s degree in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement (see comments below) or an associate’s degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license
Technical diploma in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
Must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN. Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required
Master’s degree in Public Health preferred
RN license from the state of Texas required
3 years nursing experience required, preferably in childhood immunizations
