Summary:

We are searching for a Health Education Nurse -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will assist with the implementation of the Immunization Project goals, with specific responsibility of the education component.

Responsibilities :

• Updates Immunization provider database for greater Houston area within one month of start date, in conjunction with registry outreach team
• Assesses clinic immunization behaviors and practices for all immunization providers in the greater Houston area within 3 months of start date
• Develops, standardizes, updates and distributes educational materials for clinical staff monthly, physicians, physicians-in-training, community groups and parents on a quarterly basis
• Participate in public education by developing and giving presentations to community groups, daycares, schools, etc. in order to increase awareness and understanding of the importance of immunizations
• Plans, manages, and/or participates in local, state, &/or national conferences, committees, and other meetings for the promotion of immunizations
• Assist IP Manager with projects as assigned such as grant writing, reports, presentations., etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or one of the following educational milestones is required:
• Associate’s degree in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement (see comments below) or an associate’s degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license
• Technical diploma in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
• Must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN. Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required
• Master’s degree in Public Health preferred
• RN license from the state of Texas required
• 3 years nursing experience required, preferably in childhood immunizations
