Summary:

We are searching for a Lead Ambulatory Service Rep -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will assist the care team by coordinating complex patient care activities, administering the patient scheduling system for the designated provider(s) and supporting patient flow and serving as an expert or MD liaison for clinic unlicensed functions and patients/families.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs patient registration procedures per department process
  • May maintain an organized filing system of current referrals in progress and already appointed, communicates all missed appointments to PCP, and destroys missed referrals after one month
  • Provides insurance authorization and collection of cash and deposits for the hospital
  • Confirms patient appointments, verifying patient demographics and insurance information
  • References Hospital contractual agreements with insurance companies to obtain authorization for services
  • Performs charge entry and reconciliation
  • Provides appropriate customer service and communication to patients and families
  • Provides basic office support which may include ordering and maintaining office/clinic supplies
  • Ensures efficient patient flow and room management
  • Assists in guiding the work of the Ambulatory Services Representatives and Senior Ambulatory Services Representatives


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 years’ experience in a healthcare setting required
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
