Summary:

We are searching for an Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy Technician -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide assistance to the occupational/physical therapists and physical therapy assistants in providing occupational and physical therapy treatment programs in a developmentally and age appropriate manner for patients ages 0 to adulthood.

Responsibilities :

  • Attend health, safety and training in-services and other mandatory hospital activities
  • Meet all institutional and departmental health, safety and training requirements prior to merit review date through attending all )required OSHA, communicative diseases, fire, safety and infection control in-services and other hospital/departmental health, safety and training in-services
  • Perform patient care and related activities
  • Provide set-up/clean-up of patient care area as requested by treating therapist/therapy assistant
  • Provide patient transportation
  • Coordinate patient transportation schedule with primary therapist, patient care unit and coworkers daily as assigned
  • Ensure adequate inventory of linen and patient-related supplies
  • Provide a safe, clean and tidy patient care work area
  • Inform Team Leader or designee of all patient/personal injury or unsafe situations, anticipated problems and unusual situations; completes appropriate related documentation according to departmental and hospital guidelines
  • Perform other essential functions


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certification in basic life support preferred
  • Basic familiarity with an acute care medical environment preferred
