Summary:

We are searching for an Assistant Director of Privacy and Training -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will support the Director of the Compliance Services & Privacy Department in providing legal analysis and guidance related to HIPAA and privacy-related matters. You will be responsible for leading the Privacy Office including evaluation of potential breaches, privacy investigations, privacy training around the organization generally and on a targeted basis, reporting to the Office of Civil Rights annually and as necessary, ensuring appropriate breach notifications are submitted and tracked, and reporting all such activities to the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board. You will also serve as a liaison to the Legal Department when legal advice related to privacy matters is necessary and will assist in the management of the internal operations of the Compliance Department.

Responsibilities :

  • Provides guidance on privacy matters to management, executives, and medical staff
  • Educates organizational and department leaders on privacy policies and procedures
  • Coordinates board and executive reporting
  • Actively participates in hospital and medical staff committee meetings and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ensures that Joint Commission requirements specific to your department are fulfilled but also understand the linkage between your department’s requirements and those of the integrated delivery system
  • Collaborates with colleagues in other departments to ensure all Joint Commission requirements are met


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or legal field required
  • Master’s degree in business, healthcare, or legal field preferred
  • Juris Doctor Degree in business, healthcare, or legal field preferred
  • CHPS certification preferred
  • 5 years business, healthcare, legal, and/or privacy experience, including 2 years management/leadership experience required
