Summary:

We are searching for a Senior Contracts Specialist — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide skilled professional duties relating to the initiation and completion of contractual arrangements and other contracts assigned and entered into by, and on behalf of, internal entities. You will coordinate vendor selection, contract initiation, negotiation, and contract review and approval processes for business arrangements.

Responsibilities :

  • Negotiate, monitor, and manage assigned vendor contracts for Texas Children’s Health Plan
  • Prepare complex contractual agreements by utilizing contract templates, drafting custom contracts, or obtaining vendor paper per Contracts Matrix
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner, and assist them with securing answers and resolutions to their contract-related inquiries
  • Ensure contract terms and conditions adhere to set policies and procedures, and any applicable laws and regulations
  • Assist with departmental leadership, and the training/onboarding of new hires
  • Maintenance and administration of contracts in the contracting database
  • Stay abreast of renewals, amendments and other contract changes
  • Act as the point of contact for general inquiries from business owners and leadership regarding vendor contracts
  • File required vendor contracts with applicable state regulatory agencies and communicate with such agencies regarding filings as required

 



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • JD preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in contracting, preferably in a health care or health plan environment Ability to learn computer and application skills as applicable to role, including the contracting database.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with individuals of all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to be self-directed and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities and prioritize appropriately.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
