We are searching for a Pulmonary Diagnostic Lab Manager -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will maintain accountability for clinical and personnel activities and to provide support to the Director, Medical Director and Practice Administrator for Pulmonary Diagnostic Lab operations. The PDL Manager participates in the delivery of high quality, family-centered and developmentally appropriate patient care. The PDL Manager provides leadership to direct patient flow, staffing, and clinical quality in collaboration with physician and administrative outpatient leaders.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs daily diagnostic procedures under the guidelines set by the American Thoracic Society and department policies
  • Ability to perform all tests allowed by education and/or certification and descriptive knowledge of all tests performed within the lab
  • Provides operational leadership to the Pulmonary Diagnostic Lab
  • Coordinates patient care needs across multidisciplinary lines and works to improve patient flow, information coordination, and patient care through departmental and interdepartmental communication and PI projects
  • Maintains routine quality assurance tracking and feedback for the Pulmonary Diagnostic Lab at all locations
  • Ensures staff and departmental adherence to lab policies and procedures related to tests and patient care by periodic review of test performance
  • Manages Pulmonary Diagnostic Lab Equipment maintenance, both routine and acute issues
  • Evaluates new equipment requests in the department including researching potential effectiveness of equipment, number of annual tests, expenses, and revenue potential


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care preferred
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • RCP license from the Texas Medical Board required
  • RRT CERT from the National Board for Respiratory Care required
  • 3 years clinical experience in both critical and non-critical care areas, including 6 months experience in critical care required
