We are searching for a Physical Therapy Assistant -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide assistance to the Physical Therapist and to follow and implement the individual patient plan of care providing Physical Therapy treatment programs in a developmentally and age-appropriate manner for patients ages 0 - adulthood.

Responsibilities :

  • Attends health, safety, and training Inservices and other mandatory hospital activities
  • Thoroughly reviews the individualized patient physical therapy evaluation, plan of care and progress notes prior to implementing patient care treatment
  • Communicates daily with the primary therapist reporting patient status, response to therapy and need for reassessment
  • Provides accurate and thorough information consistently to patients and families concerning their participation in the patient's continuity of care as outlined by the primary therapist
  • Documents patient information in patient's medical record according to hospital and departmental guidelines in a legible manner
  • Plans, coordinates, and presents at least two (2) educational inservices per year to departmental staff in addition to those scheduled post-workshop training
  • Works with departmental staff and other health care professionals to promoted teamwork through volunteering regularly to help others when time allows
  • Promotes quality patient care through professional judgment and documentation using departmental guidelines


  • Associate’s degree in physical therapy required
  • PTA certification from the state of Texas required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required or is scheduled to attend a CPR certification course
  • Some clinical experience in an acute care pediatric setting or equivalent preferred
