Summary:

We are searching for an Assistant Director of Pathology -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will ensure high quality Pathology Laboratory services required to achieve timely, cost-effective, quality patient care through the coordination and supervision of daily operations specific to area of responsibility with oversight and planning of financial management of department.

Responsibilities :

• Provides leadership for assessment, planning, integration, implementation, and support
• Coordinates efforts of operational and technical teams developing and implementing policies, quality programs and compliance assessment tools
• Participates on institutional committees and informs departmental leadership and staff regarding institutional plans and/or decisions related to changes in policy, infrastructure, systems, that impact area of responsibility
• Manages daily operations for departmental systems, including downtime, errors, and other interruptions in service in collaboration with Nursing, IS and other departments impacted
• Reviews and updates policies and procedures to assure operational integrity
• Lead teams, assuring appropriate knowledge and cross training and fostering team building for optimal group dynamics
• Validates data quality, information systems, instrument, and systems interfaces



Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, laboratory science, chemical, physical or biology science required
• MT-ASCP, MLS-ASCP, CLSP-NCA, MB-ASCP, MP-ASCP, BB-ASCP-C-ASCP, H-ASCP, M-ASCP, HT-ASCP, HLT, or PA-ASCP required
• 4 years in a pathology lab environment with two years supervisory experience
