Summary:

We are searching for a Senior Volunteer Coordinator -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will assist in onboarding new volunteers, rewriting policies, redesigning processes, and driving community engagement.

Responsibilities :

  • Places general and high-profile volunteers in appropriate positions according to established procedures set forth by hospital and departmental policies and procedures and Joint Commission requirements
  • Acts as a liaison between staff and volunteers as needed to resolve any issues that may arise
  • Counsels volunteers as needed and documents each incident and files accordingly
  • Responsible for ensuring input and maintenance of volunteer records and hours, accurate and appropriate record keeping of volunteer hours and information, including awards and status
  • Responsible for assisting in training new Volunteer Services staff
  • Ensures monthly volunteer statistics are included in appropriate monthly management reports and distributed to leadership
  • Responsible for compiling and creating monthly newsletter to be sent to volunteers, where applicable
  • Represents the department on necessary and appropriate committees such as members at large and junior council


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 4-year experience of general supervisory or volunteer coordinator experience required
  • 1-year experience supervising volunteers required
  • Volunteer supervisory experience ma overlap with actual experience counted for the requirement
  • An associates or bachelor's degree may be substituted for above experience requirement on a year for year basis for the 4-year experience requirement only. Education cannot be substituted for the 1-year requirement
