We are searching for a Medical Technologist / Laboratory Technician II -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will serve as the primary trainer and perform quality assurance duties. You will perform phlebotomy, technical laboratory procedures, analyze data, and report results to be used for the diagnosis and treatment of disease resulting in the provision of quality patient care and to assure and improve laboratory customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs laboratory testing
  • Validates specimen identification per departmental policies and procedures and processes samples according to specimen handling protocols defined in standard operating procedures
  • Prepares specimens for referred testing; maintains documentation
  • Documents any tests/laboratories exceeding expected turnaround time and the corrective action taken
  • Performs and documents quality control procedures, according to the policies and procedures; initiate corrective action to out of range QC, escalates unresolved issues to Manager or designee for timely resolution
  • Participates in continuing education and in-service programs by attending section meetings, workshops, and seminars; reads professional publications or attends classes and provides documentation of participation
  • Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills when dealing with patients/families, visitors, peers, and other health care team members
  • Assists manager in onboarding new laboratory technicians, which includes developing the training plan, documenting competency and providing timely feedback to the manager


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Three years’ laboratory experience required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • MT license preferred
  • MT-AMT preferred
  • MLS-ASCP, C-ASCP, H-ASCP, MT-ASCP or M-ASCP from the American Society for Clinical Pathology preferred
