We are searching for a Manager of Patient Accounts — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will manage billing procedures which include collections, edits, and claims and ensure that all claims are filed timely, accurately, and effectively. You will manage patient accounts, support service areas, and ensure the continuity of cash flow and collection of every collectible dollar with efficient account resolution. Lastly, you will work closely with other departments to effectively retrieve information supporting appeals and communicating denial trends.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and implement system edits for both Epic and Med Assets and maintain that gross days in accounts receivable are at or below specified departmental targets
  • Coordinate resources (staff, equipment, and space) and work assignments to meet process performance targets in a cost-effective manner and ensure that staff follows up in a timely manner
  • Evaluate processes to improve reimbursement by communicating with physicians, leadership, hospital departments, and ambulatory leadership
  • Maintain credit balances at two-day revenues in accounts receivable by reviewing and approving refunds to the correct payer and that contractual allowances and payments are posted accurately and within the same day received by conducting periodic audits of transaction entry
  • Oversee the backend business operations and develop best practices for collections which includes self-pay, third party follow-up, and edits
  • Provide training, coaching, and development of staff to meet performance expectations and to provide the highest possible customer service



Skills & Requirements

  • High school diploma or an equivalent
  • 3 years’ minimum of progressive responsibility in patient accounts or business office experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • A bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field may substitute for years of the required experience

**Position will manage the Governmental Collections Team, previous Medicaid experience highly desirable**

**Out of State Medicaid Collections experience highly preferred**
