Summary:

We are searching for a Faculty Affairs Advisor -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will support the Surgeon in Chief by providing guidance for faculty hiring, faculty appointments and promotions, BCM system inputs and faculty awards, as well as serve as the primary liaison for surgery with the BCM Operating Unit

Responsibilities :

 

  • Oversee the faculty appointment and promotion process, including communication with faculty and coordination of supporting reference letters, documents, CVs, and Chair Letter
  • Manage databases for faculty appointments and promotions, including tenure-clock monitoring and engages faculty at appropriate checkpoints to ensure continued progress towards next academic rank
  • Develop educational courses and materials to assist faculty with the promotion process and career growth
  • Compile accomplishments from faculty and compose monthly newsletter for DOS to broadly communicate progress in the department
  • Facilitate communications on behalf of BCM related to faculty performance reviews, trainings, and other activities directed from BCM
  • Partner with BCM Faculty Affairs on faculty contracts, appointments, and promotions
  • Facilitate the Reappointment Letter process annually for DOS faculty


Qualifications:

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3 years’ experience in an academic medical center or other academic institution required
