Summary:

We are searching for a Service Coordinator -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will support excellence in clinical practice and the care of patients in accordance with their developmental stages. The Service Coordinator will help in the daily operations of the service by assisting the managers by promoting the development of other nursing professionals, demonstrating clinical expertise, and implementation of the departmental standards of nursing practice.

Responsibilities :

 Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collects data from patient, family, laboratory, and other medical reports according to guidelines as documented on the Preoperative/Holding Area Assessment form
  • Develops a plan of care based upon the nursing assessment reflecting the biophysical, psychological, age appropriate developmental, environmental, cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient as observed by the supervisor
  • Formulates, implements, and documents individual teaching plans based on patient/family assessment as observed by supervisor
  • Cares for one or more of the following age groups routinely: Neonates, Infants, Toddler, Preschool Age, School Age, Adolescent, and Adult
  • Demonstrates consistent positive interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, families, and visitors to generate a feeling of trust and caring as observed by supervisor
  • Accurately documents charges for basic and specialty supplies according to protocol, e.g., implants, etc. and teaches effective cost containment to appropriate staff members
  • Coordinates, organizes, and supports all activities of designated specialty service, e.g., CHSS, ENT, Eye/Dental, General, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Plastics, Urology, and Transplant
  • Maintains professional standards by participating in in-services, professional development, and keeping informed of Hospital/Departmental communications as evident by in-service roster


Qualifications:

Skills & Requirements

  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
  • Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement or must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN
  • RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact required
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association required
  • 2 years operating room experience required
