We are on the hunt for a Patient Transporter Dispatcher who is capable of working in a fast paced hospital environment. In this role, you will be responsible for providing patient transportation services , delivery of patient equipment and lab specimens. We are looking for someone who is timely, safe, friendly, and courteous to all TCH patients and members.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards. 
Qualifications:
•   A high school diploma or equivalent is Required.
•   Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
•   One year of Customer service experience in a hospitality, retail, restaurant, or any front line customer service position required. 
Responsibilities:
•   Transports/escorts patients promptly to and from patient rooms and patient care service areas utilizing proper patient transportation equipment within established time frame, as documented on dispatch logs and observed by supervisor
•   Consistently verifies patient I.D. information against patient dispatch information to
•   Ensure accurate transportation of patients to the appropriate areas
•   Receives patient chart from patient’s assigned nurse prior to transport of patient
•   Maintains confidentiality of patient information at all times
•   Displays a working knowledge of policies and procedures relating to patient transportation, delivery of patient-related equipment, and specimen delivery
•   Demonstrates proper mechanical skills in operating and maneuvering transportation devices, (i.e., wheelchairs, stretchers, IV poles, carts, wagons, high chairs, and bedside tables).
•   Communicates with patient and family in an age-appropriate manner
•   Provides specimen delivery
•   Delivers/retrieves patient-related equipment
•   Provides a high level of customer service
•   Demonstrates ownership for responsibilities in assigned area and other designated areas
•   Demonstrates accountability for customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic, teamwork and effective communication skills
